Quinton de Kock has not had a memorable Test series with the bat in the ongoing series against India. Barring that crucial century in the first Test at Vizag (111), which had come at a time when the visitors were in all sorts for trouble, he could not make much of an impact as the wicket-keeper batsman could only manage scores of 0,5 and 31 in the following innings. He was also involved in a verbal spat with his team-mate Kagiso Rabada as skipper Faf du Plessis had to calm them down. Meanwhile, in the third Test at Ranchi, de Kock was involved in a hilarious incident.

A fan touches de Kock's feet

You heard that right. In the last match at Pune, a fan had tricked the security personnel as he marched on to the ground to touch Rohit Sharma's feet and tripping him on the ground while at Ranchi, a fan had dodged past the security to catch Quinton de Kock's feet on Day 2. However, to everyone's astonishment, the young keeper-batsman hugged the fan. While being dragged by the security personnel, the fan had forgotten his slipper which had fallen on the ground as de Kock himself returned it back to the fan. Quinton de Kock once again had a poor run with the bat as he was dismissed for just four after he was caught behind by his counterpart Wriddhiman Saha off a lethal bouncer from Umesh Yadav.
