India will be up against New Zealand in the World Cup semifinal on Tuesday at Manchester with Virat Kohli and Kane Williamson captaining their respective sides. In an incredible coincidence, the same set of circumstances had also been witnessed in 2008 as the two players met in the U-19 World Cup semifinal.

In that match, Virat Kohli the bowler had dismissed Kane Williamson. Here is the video:

When Kohli was reminded about this occasion during a media interaction ahead of the match, here's how he reacted.

"I got Kane's wicket? Did I? Huh? I don't know if that can happen again now."

When asked about the bowling options, skipper Kohli jokingly said that even he can ball and that he was confident of getting the prized wicket of his Kiwi counterpart Kane Williamson.

Kohli and Willamson both made their way into national teams after promising performances in their U-19 teams.

Ravindra Jadeja, Trent Boult and Tim Southee who are in the current squads were also part of the squad in the U-19 semis. Kohli who was the Man of the Match that match also took Kane Willamson’s wicket.

India U-19 went on to win that semi-final and eventually the U-19 World Cup in 2008.

It remains to be seen whether history will be repeated this time around as well.

"I got Kane out. I can bowl anytime. I'm quite lethal, as long as I don't slip on the pitch."

This semi-final is special as the Black Caps are in the World Cup semi-finals for the eighth time while the Men in Blue in their seventh.
