The 'Royal Battle' between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals was called off due to rain as both the teams shared a point each at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Tuesday. RCB skipper Virat Kohli's bad luck with the toss continued as he lost the 10th toss in 13th games after the coin had landed in visiting captain Steve Smith's favour who then decided to bowl first. However, even before the action was started there was a heavy downpour in Bengaluru as the match was delayed without a ball being bowled. The covers came off some time later but the rain gods intervened once again and played a spoilsport.

However, there were some heroes off the field who ensured that the show went on. Any guesses? It was the ground staff at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. These unsung heroes ensured that the game did not end without a ball being bowled as they put in their best efforts so that the crowd could get some entertainment. In the end, their efforts paid off as both the teams played this rain-curtailed match of 5-overs a side and the viewers got to witness the second hat-trick of this season which was taken by the local boy Shreyas Gopal. However, the match was called off when the rain gods intervened once again during Rajasthan's run chase.

Irrespective of the end result, Royal Challengers Bangalore took to Twitter and thanked the ground staff for their dedication.

Even the netizens came forward to applaud the unsung heroes.
