Indian team started their ICC World Test Championship campaign on a high as they beat West Indies comprehensively by a mammoth 318 runs. The Virat Kohli-led Indian outfit proved why they are the top-ranked Test side as they outclassed as well as outplayed the West Indies side in all the departments. After the match, Rohit Sharma also made his presence felt but in a different avatar.
Rohit Sharma donned the anchor's hat after Team India's outstanding win in the first Test. The Indian vice-captain did not feature in the contest but that did not stop him from conducting an interview with the likes Ajinkya Rahane and Jasprit Bumrah, who were the pioneers of this win. Rohit Sharma first introduced himself and said that it felt that it felt great to be on the winning side as India were playing their first Test match after a span of 7-8 months. The Hitman then introduced the two players who made a huge impact in the Indian win and they were Ajinkya Rahane and Jasprit Bumrah.
"We had a lot of runs in the second innings so we were aggressive right from the beginning. I was bowling and it was windy quite windy as well. I tried bowling in the right areas so that I would get some help which paid off as I got good results", said Jasprit Bumrah.
"I am very satisfied with the way I batted especially in the first innings when we were 20/3. There were a lot of talks that I had not scored enough runs and that I could not convert those 50s into 100s. My intention in the first innings was to get my team to a good position and personal milestone was secondary. I was again got an opportunity in the second innings and we had a lot of time. Once I was set, my aim was to play three sessions and 200 balls. I could score a century after playing 200 balls. I dedicate this century to those who have stood by me during my tough time", said Ajinkya Rahane.

Ajinkya Rahane was India's saviour in both the innings. He scored 81 in the first innings and then scored his 10th Test ton in the second innings as his 242-ball 102 helped India set up a target of 419 runs for the West Indies. Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah's fiery spell completely made a mess of the West Indies run chase as neither of their batsmen got going. Bumrah finished with figures of 5/7 at an economy rate of 0.88 including four maidens as the Caribbeans were bundled out for just 100 runs.
