With just days left before the extravaganza called the Indian Premier League (IPL) begins, a massive development has taken place which is sure to boost the morale of one team and its fans.
Delhi Capitals - previously Delhi Daredevils - who are still aiming to win the tournament for the first-ever time, have announced a major inclusion into their franchise -- not in the form of a player, but in their staff.
Former Kolkata Knight Riders skipper and Pune Warriors India batsman Souav Ganguly has been roped in by the Delhi team for the role of Advisor. This massive development was confirmed by the team on its official Twitter account.
"BREAKING: Tigers, say hello to our Royal Bengal Tiger! We're delighted to welcome @SGanguly99 to Delhi Capitals, in the role of an Advisor," their post welcoming Ganguly read.
In the 11 seasons so far, the Delhi team has only managed to reach the semi-finals, but has failed to go past the final-4 even on one occasion. Despite host of changes over the years, the team has failed to find the right balance.
The 12th edition of IPL will begin on March 23, an earlier start than other years due to the elections in the country. The schedule for the first two weeks has been announced, with holders CSK to take on RCB in the first match.
