England handed India their first defeat in the ongoing ICC Men's Cricket World Cup as they defeated Men in Blue by 31 runs here at Edgbaston on Sunday.

As a result of this win, England have now moved to the third position in the tournaments standing. They have ten points in eight matches. While India remains at the second spot with 11 points.

Commenting on the same, Rishi Kapoor took to his Twitter handle and wrote: "Roz roz naheen jeetoge. (ICC World Cup 2019.) Kabhi kabhi doosaron ko bhi chance do! Importantly, you are still alive for semi finals, SO.....no complacency and no taking things for granted henceforth. The ๐Ÿ† is ours!!!"

Before the match started, Rishi Kapoor called the England versus India match 'unique' and said: "Sunday’s ICC ๐Ÿ†game will be unique between India and England. 1.2 billion Indians,200 million Pakistanis, 150 million Bangladeshis and 25 million Sri Lankan’s will be praying for ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณIndia’s win. If India loses then Pakistan,Bangladesh and Sri Lanka our of the tournament. Jai Hind!"

Coming back to the match, Virat Kohli and Rohit stitched a well-compiled partnership of 138 runs, which saw both Sharma and Kohli bringing up their half-centuries. Kohli became the first skipper in the history of World Cup cricket to register five-consecutive fifties. 

India will next play against Bangladesh on July 2, while England will take on New Zealand on July 3.
