India were handed a humiliating defeat by England in the second Test at Lord's. The result has put visitors 2-0 behind in the five-Test series, and allied doubts of a repeat of 2011 tour, when they were whitewashed 4-0 in four-match Test series by the hosts.

While the defeat in the first Test at Birmingham had a few positives, India were abysmal at Lord's. Virat Kohli and co. were bundled out twice within two and a half days, batting less than 83 overs en route to their innings defeat.

Given they are the No.1 side in Test format, the result came out as a shock, which was soon followed by criticism from number of former players. One of those who was least pleased with the performance was Sachin Tendulkar.

The Master Blaster praised the English bowlers, and also had a few harsh words for the Men in Blue. He wrote a message on Twitter, which read, "An all-round performance by England. Excellent spells of fast bowling by @jimmy9 and @StuartBroad8, with a fine performance by @chriswoakes. We’ve got to pull up our socks and produce better cricket India. #ENGvIND"

Tendulkar's former opening partner Virender Sehwag also shared similar sentiments. The 'Nawab of Najafgarh' was disgraced by his team's performances at Lord's, terming it as "very poor". He tweeted, "Very poor from India. While we all want to stand by our team and support them when they don’t do well, going down without a fight is very disappointing to watch. Hope they have the confidence and mental strength to comeback from this."

Having lost the toss and being put into bat, Kohli's India were bowled out by England bowlers for a mere 107, playing out just 35.2 overs. Under the cloudy conditions, the English pacers swung the ball and made Indian batters look like kids.

After England declared their innings at 396 for 7, the visitors were staring at an innings defeat. There was a lot pinned on the top-order of India, but the English bowlers made sure that it was repeat of the first innings. Murali Vijay was again removed for a duck, his second in this Test.

The following Indian batters got into double figures, before the England pacers sent them back to the pavilion. KL Rahul, Ajinkya Rahane, Murali Vijay and a half-fit Kohli all looked like getting a start, but were dismissed by some excellent swing bowling.

Just like the first innings, Hardik Pandya and Ravichandran Ashwin showed fight. They scored 26 and 33 respectively, but could do very little as the visitors were bowled out for 130.
