Shahadat Hossain assaults Arafat Sunny; likely to get one year suspension from cricket

Former Bangladesh bowler Shahadat Hossain could face a one-year suspension from cricket after physically assaulting Arafat Sunny during the second day's play between Dhaka Division and Khulna Divison at the Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna. Match referee Akhtar Ahmed has reportedly said he has given his report on the incident to the BCB and also added that it was simply not acceptable.

Shahadat Hossain and Arafat Sunny fight 

According to a report in a leading website, Arafat said that Shahadat was not competent to shine one side of the ball, which angered the paceman enough to launch an attack on his fellow teammate before players came to the rescue. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) have taken immediate action against Shahadat Hossain,

Shahadat said that he will not be playing in the ongoing NCL match as he is suspended and he is not sure what will happen in future. The pacer also accepted his mistake that he lost his temper, but blamed Arafat for his misbehaviour as he refused to shine the ball. He also said that he answered him back with degrading tone.

A BCB tournament committee official said that Shahadat was brought back from Khulna after he accepted the verdict that is considered a Level 4 offence in the BCB's code of conduct.  He also added that Shahadat accepted the verdict and returned back home.

 The tournament committee also handed the report of the match referee to the technical committee and they will decide Shahadat's future but till then he has been barred of taking part in this NCL game.

Ind vs Ban Pink Ball Test 

The historic Pink ball Test match between India and Bangladesh will be played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata starting Friday, November 22. According to various Indian media reports, Army Paratroopers will fly in to hand over the pink ball to both sides on the day of the match.
