The World Cup dream that ended way sooner

Shikhar Dhawan's World Cup dream ended during India's group match against  Australia where a rising delivery from Pat Cummins had struck him on his thumb. However, he overcame all the odds and continued batting in pain. His efforts bore fruits as he ended up scoring a match-winning century (117 of 109 deliveries). The star opener was ruled out due to an injury between his thumb and the index finger. Gabbar will now look to make amends in the upcoming three-match T20I series against South Africa which starts from September 15.
