Shubman Gill, the left-handed opener who had an amazing series against West Indies A, voiced his disappointment after he was not selected in the squad for India's tour of West Indies.
"It was disappointing not to get picked but I am not going to spend time thinking over it. I'll keep scoring runs and performing to the best of my ability to impress the selectors," said the young lad.
The most informed voice of cricket, Harsha Bhogle took to Twitter to express his happiness on Shubman being expressive on his omission from the squad. Bhogle said that Gill expressing his disappointment for not being picked up in the squad shows hunger and ambition. He added that now the youngster must channelise this positively by scoring more and not allow those who seed negative thoughts anywhere near him.

Shubman Gill put up a top-notch performance in the fifth unofficial one-day international against the West Indies A to seal the series for India A. The side led by opened Ruturaj Gaikwad (99) along with Shubman Gill (69) and Shreyas Iyer (61) ensured an eight-wicket victory over the Windies. Shubman Gill scored 218 runs from just four innings at an average of 54.50. He was the leading run-scorer in the series with a high score of 77. The left-handed opener has smashed 21 boundaries and five sixes in the tournament.The youngster was adjudged the player of the tournament, having been the leading run-scorer for the India A side.
