Suresh Raina and his adorable bond with wife Priyanka Raina

In a typical Indian household, the probability of a family member not knowing Suresh Raina is very less. The flamboyant batsman made his international debut in 2008 and since then, has been a mainstay in the Indian cricket scene. For the two years when Chennai Super Kings was defunct, Raina was the captain of Gujarat Lions. Just like any profession, Raina's career has had its ups and downs as well. But the man credits one person for helping him through it - Priyanka Chaudhary Raina, his wife.

A surprise arrangement

Priyanka and Suresh were childhood friends who had not met in years barring their brief meeting at an airport in 2008. Priyanka's family was acquainted with Raina's family though, and that is what helped the two reunite. When Raina was in Australia with the Indian team for the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup, Raina's mother made the arrangements for the two to get married. Raina learned about this after finishing his World Cup duties and the batsman did not seem to object. The couple got engaged with Raina's close friends throwing him a bachelor party which was followed by their star-studded wedding in Delhi. The couple had their first child in the form of their daughter, Gracia Raina, in 2016.

On Priyanka's birthday in 2018, Raina shared a picture of her on social media and captioned it with a nice message for his wife. He mentioned how Priyanka's multi-faceted personality was something he was very glad of being able to experience. He has also spoken about how the fact that Priyanka helps him out with the tough chapters of his life just because she knows him well enough. Priyanka has also shared how Raina and his daughter share a beautiful relationship, and little Raina can now spot her father on the TV Screen. On the professional front, Priyanka works to raise awareness about women empowerment and even has a radio show.
