Ahead of the 3rd ODI against Australia, in a special gesture, the former Indian captain MS Dhoni presented camouflaged caps to his teammates in order to honour the Indian Armed forces.
The caps were presented to the Indian cricket team right ahead of the toss. Since the Ranchi ODI, the team will have one game every year where it will wear camouflaged caps to pay tribute to our brave hearts.
A video of the same was shared on social media by the BCCI, and the caption read "#TeamIndia will be sporting camouflage caps today as mark of tribute to the loss of lives in Pulwama terror attack and the armed forces And to encourage countrymen to donate to the National Defence Fund for taking care of the education of the dependents of the martyrs #JaiHind"
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli also informed that the Indian team would donate their match fee for the 3rd ODI to the families of the Pulwama martyrs. "To pay homage to the martyrs of Pulwama Terror Attack, the players will donate today's match fee to the National Defence Fund #JaiHind," BCCI wrote on Twitter.
The BCCI also shared a closer look of the camouflaged caps. Take a look!
Coming back to the game, the Indian team has taken a 2-0 lead in the five-match series win against Australia at Ranchi. After the ODI series, the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 will kick off from March 23, 2019, followed by the ICC World Cup 2019 that will be played from May 30.
