'The green stuff is what's under your covers': Now, even Iceland is trolling the UK & ICC over the washouts at World Cup 2019

ICC has faced severe backlash from cricketing fans all around the world as four games have been washed out in the 2019 World Cup, the highest ever in the tournament's history. Netizens and fans all around the world took to social media to vent their ire via memes to mock the ICC for its logistical unpreparedness. The ICC has also been criticized for blunders committed by the umpires during the game and the state-of-the-art bails that refused to fall off even as the ball hit the stumps on many occasions.  

The Iceland Cricket 's official Twitter handle added to the meme-mock fest with a contribution of their own. They posted a video of players practising on the ground while the post carried a witty caption that took a dig at most of the blunders ICC has seen in this World Cup. In the video, players can be seen practising on the ground - a batsman facing a bowler under clear skies and on a dry pitch. The batsman gets bowled over and the bails go flying. 

The caption for the video was put in the form of a numbered sentences, each indicating a blunder the ICC has committed or has dealt with in the current World Cup. The caption begins with a disclaimer that says "for people in the United Kingdom" and it reads: the blue thing is the sky, indicating at the clear skies in contrast to the overcast conditions in England, where four games have been washed out. The next line reads - the green stuff is what's under your covers, indicating that the pitch was dry and could be used to play unlike the pitches in England which have remained under the covers owing to incessant rains. The third line reads - the man in blue is an international cricketer batting, something that hasn't been a common sight in England since the tournament began. The fourth and fifth line takes a combined dig at the bails incident, where the bails refused to fall off the stump despite the ball striking it.   

The video was put out after the highly awaited India - New Zealand match was abandoned without a ball being bowled.

Alongside four games being washed out, the ICC has also faced other concerns in the World Cup such as the bails not falling off, umpiring blunders while calling no balls and so on. Despite the ICC assuring that the Australian-manufactured bails with LED lights are the lightest and the most helpful for umpires to judge run-outs or stumpings, it has earned the wrath of loads of fans including Indian captain Virat Kohli and Australian captain Aaron Finch.

The umpiring blunders were also pointed out to the ICC, leaving them red-faced.
