Team India made history in Sydney on Monday as they won their first-ever series against Australia in Australia and captain Virat Kohli posted an emotional message about the feat on social media.
Virat shared some beautiful moments of the series victory to convey how proud he was feeling to be a part of the team and added it was a ‘great feeling.’ The no 4 batsman wrote that Team India was not just a team, but a family which has its sights only ‘onwards and upwards’ from here on.
The pictures, where we see the team ecstatically lifting the Border-Gavaskar trophy, Virat kissing it in the dressing room and his selfie with head coach Ravi Shastri, would no doubt make you proud of the captain and his boys.
Here's the post:
India clinched the series to retain the Border-Gavaskar trophy after play on day 5 of the fourth and final test was called off without a ball being played due to rain. Australia were trailing India by 316 runs after following on in the third session on day 4 when the showers started. If not for that, there was a high possibility of India winning the series 3-1.
While Indian bowlers troubled Australian batsmen throughout the series, it was Cheteshwar Pujara who was the Man of the Match for his marathon knock of 193 and Man of the Series for his mammoth 521 runs in the series.
Rishabh Pant with 350 runs, captain himself with 280 runs, Jasprit Bumrah with 21 wickets and Mohammed Shami with 16 wickets were the other major contributors to the historic win.
