Kings XI Punjab did the double over Rajasthan Royals after their impressive 12-run win at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium on Tuesday. Punjab had earlier beaten the 2008 winners by 14 runs in the away fixture. By the virtue of this win, KXIP are now at the fourth position after registering five wins from their nine games with 10 points.

However, there were a lot of celebrations post-Punjab's close win. Even skipper Ravichandran Ashwin could not help himself as he broke into 'Bhangra'. Meanwhile, Kings XI Punjab decided to appreciate three of their players who were the pioneers of their win. The 2014 finalists posted a picture of Ravichandran Ashwin, David Miller and KL Rahul in a special avatar on Twitter. Take a look.

The picture was captioned as 'A ROYAL DOUBLE' (referring to KXIP's home and away wins over Rajasthan Royals in this season).

The hosts were asked to bat first after Rajasthan skipper Ajinkya Rahane had won the toss. KL Rahul looked in good touch as he got Punjab off to a steady start with a 38 run stand for the opening wicket with Chris Gayle. He continued to anchor Punjab's innings despite losing Chris Gayle and Mayank Agarwal. He was well supported by David Miller who played a solid cameo of a 27-ball 40 which included two boundaries and maximums each. Both of them added 85 runs for the third wicket stand. Rahul then went on to register his 14th IPL half-century and his fourth one of this season which helped Punjab get to a challenging total of 182/6 in their 20 overs.

However, the standout performer of the night was skipper Ravichandran Ashwin himself. Ashwin first made an impact with the bat as he played an entertaining cameo of an unbeaten 4-ball 17 which included a boundary and two maximums. His two consecutive sixes in the last two balls of Punjab's innings was the turning point as Punjab went on to register a 12 run win. Ashwin also did a fantastic job with the ball as he scalped two crucial wickets. One included the big wicket of a well set Rahul Tripathi and the other was that of Sanju Samson. He was adjudged 'Man of the Match' for his excellent performance.

Kings XI Punjab will now face Delhi Capitals on Saturday at the Feroz Shah Kotla.
