Shreyas Gopal once again helped Rajasthan Royals in applying brakes on RCB's momentum by rattling their top order at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Monday where both teams are looking to register their first win of the season. Gopal was introduced in the seventh over by skipper Ajinkya Rahane after Virat Kohli and Parthiv Patel had stitched together an opening stand of 48 runs in the Powerplay overs. The Karnataka leg-spinner first bamboozled Kohli before he castled him with the wrong'un as the partisan fans erupted in joy.
In his very next over he once again bowled a wrong' un and was yet again rewarded with the prized scalp of AB de Villiers who gave a return catch back to the bowler. Then in his third over, he had Shimron Hetmyer caught behind and suddenly turned the tables on RCB who were cruising at one stage. Gopal had also dismissed both Kohli and de Villiers in the last season and that too at the same ground which the 2008 champions went on to win and consolidate their spot in the playoffs. He finished his spell with three wickets by giving away 12 runs which included a maiden in his quota of four overs at an economy of 3.00.
Twitterati praised the young leg-spinner for yet another successful bowling performance against RCB.
