Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers charged up the Bengaluru crowd with their outstanding pyrotechnics with the bat at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium against Kolkata Knight Riders on Friday. It was skipper Kohli's day as he overtook Suresh Raina to become the highest run-getter in IPL. Kohli has fluidly managed to make 5110 runs in 168 matches and 160 innings. He played a superb knock of a 49-ball 84 at a strike rate of 171.43 which included nine boundaries and two maximums. He was well supported by the former South African skipper, who also scored a quickfire 32-ball 63 at a strike rate of 196.88 including five fours and four sixes.

Virat Kohli, who contributed 64 runs during his opening partnership along with Parthiv Patel, went a step further as he stitched in a 108 run second wicket stand along with AB de Villiers, popularly known as 'Mr. 360'. This was the second consecutive time that the duo were involved in a partnership at the same venue. They had stitched in a 49 run stand against Mumbai Indians last week.
