India's 2011 World Cup-winner skipper MS Dhoni rediscovered his form with the bat during India's second ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 warm-up match against Bangladesh at the Sophia Gardens in Cardiff. Although, India did have a rocky start where Shikhar Dhawan departed early scoring just 5 runs, while Skipper Virat Kohli too tried to get the momentum going but lost the wicket just three runs short of half a century.

However, Dhoni's knock acted as a saving grace and fans were elated by his quickfire. This incident though ensued banter online with memes praising the batsman flooding the internet.

Dhoni scored 78-ball 113 at a strike rate of 144.87 including eight boundaries and seven maximums. His quickfire ton helped India get to a huge total of 359/7 in their 50 overs.

In reply, Bangladesh got off to a good start. They then lost two quick wickets before reaching the score of 50. However, a 120-run third wicket stand between Liton Das (73) and Mushfiqur Rahim (90) kept Bangladesh's run chase alive. Nonetheless, after these two set batsmen were dismissed, Bangladesh lost their way and were eventually bundled out for 264 with three balls to spare and thereby, handling a 95-run victory for India.
