Vijay Hazare Trophy 2019-20: Here's the updated points table

The ongoing edition of Vijay Hazare Trophy, the first limited-overs competition for 2019-20 Indian cricket’s domestic season has seen changes on points table.

The ongoing edition of Vijay Hazare Trophy, which marks the first limited-overs competition for the 2019-20 Indian cricket’s domestic season, has seen a lot of change on the points table. Three-time winners Mumbai will be looking to retain their title this season after winning the previous edition (2018-19) by defeating Delhi in the final. The tournament also witnesses Chandigarh making their debut in the Indian premier domestic competition.

Elite Group A and B

Punjab are currently sitting at the top of the Elite Group A and B table with 20 points. In the eight matches played so far, Punjab has won three and lost once and four matches producing no results due to the indifferent weather conditions. Uttar Pradesh, on the other hand, are the only unbeaten side in the pool and are currently placed second on the table with 16 points, star-studded Karnataka currently occupy the third position with the same number of points and If they do manage to win their ongoing match against Mumbai, they have a chance to move up the points table. Other teams like Hyderabad, Chhattisgarh are placed fourth and fifth positions respectively.

Elite Group C

In Elite Group C, Gujarat and Tamil Nadu continue to remain the only unbeaten sides among the 10 teams. Tamil Nadu who have played seven matches in the tournament so far have put up strong performance winning all the matches and claim the top spot on the points table with 28 points. Gujarat, also has a perfect record winning six out of six matches, accumulating 24 points in the process. Services and Bengal teams are placed at third and fourth positions respectively.

Vijay Hazare Trophy: Plate Group

In the Plate group, Puducherry have opened up a six-point lead (24 points) at the top of the table over Uttarakhand who is placed in the second position with 18 points from six matches.

Chandigarh who is making their debut in the tournament are placed in the third spot with 18 points, while Chandigarh and Meghalaya in the table occupy the fourth and fifth positions respectively.
