During the enthralling second ODI between India and West Indies at Visakhapatnam, Virat Kohli scripted history by becoming the fastest batsman in ODI history to reach the 10,000-run mark in the format. The Indian skipper achieved this feat in his 205th innings, overtaking his mentor Sachin Tendulkar who had reached the same number in 259 innings, while further enhancing his reputation as arguably the best ever player of this format.

With his recent feat, the 29-year-old has added yet another achievement under his kitty. Let's take a look at all the records he presently holds in the ODI format:

Fastest to 10,000 runs: Virat Kohli became the fastest to 10,000 runs in the ODI format, achieving the feat in 205 innings. He became the numero uno by breaking the record of Sachin Tendulkar, who had accomplished this feat in 259 innings.

Average of 59.62: In the all-time ODI list, Kohli stands second when it comes to batting average. And if we look at the players who have played over 100 matches, Kohli stands well clear, with former Australian batsman Michael Bevan in second with an average of 53.58.

Fastest to 4000 runs in India: Against West Indies in the second ODI, Kohli achieved another feat, becoming the fastest player to score 4,000 runs in ODI cricket in India. He achieved the record in just 78 innings, overtaking former South African skipper and his long-time friend AB de Villiers, who did it in 91 innings.

Fastest to 1000 runs in a calendar year: Kohli's sensational 157 against West Indies at Visakhapatnam meant he went past 1000 runs in ODI for this calendar year. The Indian skipper achieved this feat in a mere 11 innings, overtaking South Africa's Hashim Amla to become the fastest batsman to 1000 ODI runs in a calendar year. Kohli's average in ODIs this year presently stands at 149.42.

Quickest to 10,000 runs: Ever since making his debut, Kohli has been scoring runs day and night. In just 10 years and 68 days, the Indian skipper reached the 10k mark. In doing so, he became the quickest to reach the feat ever since debut, overtaking former Indian skipper Rahul Dravid, who had achieved the similar feat in 10 years and 317 days.

While he created a number of records on Wednesday, Kohli saw his side fail to win the second ODI. His unbeaten 157 propelled India to 321 for 6 in 50 overs. But Windies showed fight, and on the back of a sensational 94 by Shimron Hetmyer and unbeaten 123 by Shai Hope, managed to tie the match.
