Virat Kohli becomes the most searched player by global cricket fans

Virat Kohli added yet another feather in his cap as he became the most search player by cricket fans globally. Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni also join the list.

Virat Kohli has been rested for the ongoing T20I series against Bangladesh but he will be back for the two-match Test series which starts from November 14 where he will be looking to maintain top spot in the ICC Test rankings. It seems that the Indian skipper is making the most of his free time by posting a hilarious Mr. Bean type GIF and also posting a picture of his signature trademark cover drive. It is a no-brainer that Kohli is one of the most followed athletes in the world and the most followed in India but now, he has added another feather in his cap.

Virat becomes the most searched player by cricket fans worldwide

As per reports, the top-ranked ODI batsman has been searched over 2 million times on a monthly average from January to September in the year 2019. According to the case study by an online visibility management platform, Virat Kohli along with his deputy Rohit Sharma and the 2011 World Cup-winning skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni occupy the first three positions for the most searched players worldwide. In fact, the trio has been the most searched cricketers for two straight years now (2018 & 2019 respectively). Coincidentally, Team India is the most searched team this year.

Kohli aiming to surpass Steve Smith

Virat Kohli will be back in action to lead India in the two-match Test series which will be played at Indore and Kolkata respectively. Meanwhile, the second Test at the iconic Eden Gardens scheduled from November 22-26 will be a day-night affair which will also mark the first-ever pink ball international Test in India. Virat Kohli, on the other hand, will be hoping to add some more valuable points in India's World Test Championship tally and aim to surpass Steve Smith to become the top-ranked batsman in the longest format of the game once again.
