Virat Kohli fought a lone battle as the visitors struggled as a batting unit on Day 2 of the first Test at Edgbaston. The Indian skipper survived some good bowling spells from all the pacers and few dropped catches, getting to his highest Test score in England with his first century on English soil.

Kohli got to his hundred off 172 deliveries, his knock at that point was studded with 14 boundaries. This was his 15th Test century as captain and 22nd overall. In the process, he also completed 7000 International runs as captain when he reached 42 with a boundary against Stuart Broad. With that, Kohli became the fastest to reach the milestone taking only 124 innings and 105 matches. Brian Lara was the fastest among the previous 14 players who scored 7000 International runs as captain.

To make the occasion even sweeter, Anushka Sharma was in attendance as the Virat Kohli scored his first Test century in England. Anuskha Sharma is known to accompany her husband and the Indian cricket team skipper whenever he plays.

After reaching his century, Kohli reached under his shirt and kissed the ring he had attached to a chain. The Indian skipper then gave a flying kiss to his wife Anushka Sharma who was present in the stands on day 2 of the first Test match against England.

The sight of watching Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma together became a common thing on social media ever since the start of the England tour. The duo could be seen spending a lot of time with each other.

Anushka has been a constant source of support for Virat during the ongoing India-England series. She has accompanied him to several matches and cheered for him with other WAGs of players of the Indian cricket team.

The photos of Kohli and Anushka made rounds on the internet. In one of the pictures, shared from their London diaries, Anushka and Virat dressed to impress and could be seen sitting on the backseat of a car.

England will be left to rue their missed chances as they dropped two catches and allowed India's last two wickets to add 92. Virat Kohli was the last man to be dismissed, ended with 149 off 255 deliveries, bringing an end to India's innings at 274/10.

Trailing by 13 runs, openers Alastair Cook and Keaton Jennings resumed play on Day 2 with just 15 minutes of game time left. However, Cook's dismissal in the third over through a fine Ravinchandran Ashwin delivery, meant that game was evenly poised going into Day 3.
