Virat Kohli at the renaming ceremony of the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium on Thursday evening spoke about his memories of the late Arun Jaitley. Right before his speech, there was an animated video played in the background which visualised the Indian Cricket Team Captain's entire journey. The Feroz Shah Kotla stadium is being renamed to the Arun Jaitley stadium to show respect for the late Finance Minister.

Virat Kohli in remembrance spoke of the time when Arun Jaitley had consoled him after his father's death. Kohli also had a stand named after him in the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Arun Jaitley, who was the president of DDCA from 1999 to 2013, played an instrumental role in renovating the stadium during his tenure. The decision to rename the stadium was taken by the District Cricket Association (DDCA) on August 27. This came as a tribute to the late Union Minister. Arun Jaitley passed away on August 24, 2019, after suffering for months.
'When my father died, Shri Arun Jaitley came to my house to console and motivate me. That is why I had a special connection with him.' Virat Kohli stated to the audience.
