Captain of the Indian Cricket Team Virat Kohli on Thursday posted a heartwarming message to all the women on the occasion of International Women’s day. In a video he posted on social media, Kohli paid a tribute to his wife and also wished women across the world.
Kohli in the past has always been a firm supporter of women empowerment and gender equality and this message is just testimony to that fact. The Indian Captain asks a question in the beginning of the video where he asks ‘Are men and women equal?’ before paying a tribute to all the women who rise above the stigmas as he lists out discrimination, sexual harassment as a few of them before reiterating that ‘women are better than equal.’
“Men and women aren’t equal. I really wish we were. Honestly, the fact is, it’s easier to be one than the other.To all the women all around the world, I wish you all a very happy Women’s Day,” said Virat Kohli in his message on twitter.
The video ends with the tagline ‘Women’s Day. Everyday.’ Kohli has also tagged his wife Anushka Sharma and the clothing brand ‘Wrogn.’
Virat Kohli is currently in India after leading the cricket team to a historic series victory in South Africa in the ODI and T20I series. Kohli has been rested for the tri-series T20 tournament which is underway in Sri Lanka.
