Virat Kohli might be among the best batsmen of this generation, but his fan following is not just restricted to his skills on the cricketing field and his looks and style have also contributed to his fan base over the years. The Indian captain’s classy appearances, some with actor-wife Anushka Sharma often go viral on social media and once such latest look is now making headlines. The 30-year-old donned a turban and not sent just sent netizens, but also some celebrities in a frenzy.

Netizens lauded him for looking perfect as the ‘Punjabi munda’, 'most handsome sardar' and more. 

Even Kings XI Punjab and former Indian leg-spinner Rahul Sharma were among those who wrote that the turban was suiting him and that he looked a 'Punjabi gabru.' 

However, many of them connected it to his IPL team Royal Challengers Bangalore’s poor run. While wrote only the Almighty could save his team, others quipped even that wouldn't work. One wrote he's impressed with Kings XI Punjab's R Ashwin's captaincy and hence donned the look, while another conveyed good wishes so that he plays like a Sardar and brings the World Cup home.

It is not yet clear what his look is all about, but it seems it is from an advertisement. One even tweeted a picture of MS Dhoni in a similar look, though it is not clear if that is recent or photoshopped.

Virat, meanwhile, arrived with Anushka in Kolkata for the match against Kolkata Knight Riders on Friday.
