Kohli had also put up some outstanding performances in the T20Is and ODI's. The Indian skipper scored a match-winning half-century against West Indies during the final T20I and then went on to score two consecutive centuries in the ODI's. Virat Kohli now has 43 ODI tons and is just seven away from surpassing Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar's record of 49 ODI hundreds. Virat Kohli's upcoming challenge

Virat Kohli might have had an outstanding series in the 50-overs format where he seems to be unstoppable for the moment and is the top-ranked ODI batsman in world cricket. However, the batting superstar did not have a great Test series. He could only manage a single half-century in two Tests. He was dismissed for a golden duck in the second innings of the second Test match and as a result of this, he was dethroned of the number one Test spot as Australia's Steve Smith overtook him to take the top spot. Kohli is now at the second spot and will be looking forward to making amends in the upcoming tour against South Africa from September 15 where India will be playing three-match T20Is followed by three Tests.
