Mr.360 AB de Villiers once again showed his class against Kings XI Punjab as Royal Challengers Bangalore registered a 17-run win at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Tuesday. ABD was sensational with the bat as he deposited the bowlers to all corners of the park. However, there was a standout moment in the game where de Villiers had a stroke of luck as well.
The incident happened in the fourth ball of the 19th over which was bowled by Mohammed Shami. Shami was already clobbered for two consecutive sixes prior to this delivery. On the fourth ball, the Indian speedster tried to bowl a short ball. The former South African skipper who was not prepared for it just heaved his bat and played a blind pull shot but the ball travelled the distance and landed on the roof of the Chinnaswamy Stadium as the partisan crowd erupted in joy. AB was visibly stunned by what had just happened as Chris Gayle was seen signalling the umpire that the delivery was below the waist height.

AB de Villiers played an entertaining knock of an unbeaten 44-ball 82 at a strike rate of 186.36 which included three boundaries and seven maximums. He added 101 runs along with Marcus Stoinis for the fifth wicket after RCB suffered a sudden batting collapse after the Powerplay overs. Stoinis played an important cameo of an unbeaten 34-ball 46. This partnership helped RCB get to a mammoth total of 202/4 in their 20 overs. He was adjudged 'Man of the Match' for his splendid knock.
In reply, Kings XI Punjab got off to a good start as openers Chris Gayle and Mayank Agarwal added 42 runs for the opening wicket. Rahul then stitched a 59-run second wicket stand with Mayank Agarwal and kept KXIP in the hunt. Post their dismissals, David Miller and Nicholas Pooran also made a vital contribution but Punjab's run chase lost its momentum as they lost wickets in the death overs.
