They say, form is temporary, class is permanent. It doesn't matter how much time a player is away from the field. If he is good, he will perform when he steps on the cricket pitch. And AB de Villiers is the perfect example of this.

Having announced his retirement from international cricket earlier this year, the former South African skipper has barely played any cricket since then. Yet, in the ongoing Mzansi Super League, he showed that no matter how long he is away from the sport, he will never lose his ability to unreal shots.

Playing for Tshwane Spartans in their fixture against Cape Town Blitz, 'Mr 360' showed why he is called by this name, hitting an astonishing six with a switch hit. The spectators were left grasping for breath after watching his shot.

He scored a 30-ball 59, but couldn't take his side to victory. Batting first, Cape Town Blitz had managed to score 180/4 in their 20 overs. In reply, Tshwane Spartans fell short by 49 runs, despite the heroics of de Villiers.

In October, the swashbuckling batsman revealed his admiration for former Indian skipper MS Dhoni and present skipper Virat Kohli. De Villiers stated that Dhoni would be a permanent fixture in his team even if he was 80 years old.

"You guys are funny. No, I would play MS Dhoni in my team every day of every year. He can be 80, in a wheelchair, and he would still play for my team. He is fantastic I mean look at his record. You want to drop a guy like that? You can go ahead by all means. I wouldn’t,” he told ANI.

The former South African international also heaped huge praise on Indian skipper Virat Kohli while stating that his Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) teammate is 'Cristiano Ronaldo', while he is 'Lionel Messi'.

"There is definitely some chemistry about us batting together. We have a similar mindset about the game which we enjoy. It’s nice to bat with someone who understands the way you play and also the mutual understanding. He likes Ronaldo so let him," he added.
