Mumbai Indians beat Kings XI Punjab by three wickets at the Wankhede Stadium on Wednesday. It was a nail-biting game which went down to the wire as the game could only be decided in the penultimate ball of the game. This match witnessed a lot of entertaining performances in both the innings. In the first innings, KL Rahul and Chris Gayle put on 116 runs for the opening wicket as the duo toyed around with the Mumbai bowlers. Eventually, Rahul went on to register his maiden ton as Punjab posted a challenging score of 197/4 in their 20 overs.

However, the real excitement happened in the second innings of Mumbai's run chase. It was the South African fast bowler Hardus Viljoen who took the centrestage of making this thrilling encounter even more exciting. The Punjab speedster decided to have some fun with the hard-hitting West Indian batsman Kieron Pollard. Viljoen who had an eye contact with Hardik Pandya before he was about to bowl the 12th over decided to have some fun with the big man. He had bowled a bouncer to the big West Indian who failed to get his bat on the ball as the ball hit him on the shoulders. The South African quickie then went to Pollard and sarcastically had a look at his right shoulder before rubbing his shoulders as the Caribbean all-rounder gave a disgusting look.

Last game's 'Man of the Match' winner Alzarri Joseph added the finishing touches by running two runs as Mumbai got past the finish line on the final ball of the game.

Earlier KL Rahul had scored a superb 64-ball 100 at a strike rate of 156.25. His innings included six boundaries and six maximums.
