Delhi Capitals lock horns with Sunrisers Hyderabad for in the Eliminator at ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium on Wednesday where the winner of this game will face the defending champions Chennai Super Kings in the second qualifier on Friday. The pressure of playing a knockout game was seen even before the match began when Delhi skipper Shreyas Iyer flipped the coin even before Sanjay Manjrekar had introduced the two captains and the match referee. However, things did not end right there as the drama continued on the field when the play started.
It happened in the very first ball of the Eliminator. New Zealand speedster Trent Boult bowled that over as India's Test wicket-keeper Wriddhiman Saha took the strike. Boult bowled a good delivery which came back in very quickly and completely deceived Saha. A leg before appeal was made and the on-field umpire raised his finger as Delhi celebrated after having drawn the first blood. Saha then had a discussion with his opening partner Martin Guptill and then decided to take the DRS. The umpire then sought the third umpire's assistance and the replays suggested that the veteran keeper-batsman had got an inside edge and in fact, it was a big inside edge. The decision was then overturned and Saha got a lifeline.
The video of this dramatic off the game's first ball was posted on Twitter. Watch the video here.
