KL Rahul might not have impressed his fans with his batting performance throughout the Test series in Australia, but he won the show with his sportsman spirit on the Day 3 of the fourth Test match against Australian in Sydney on Saturday.

When Australian opener Marcus Harris failed to strike Ravindra Jadeja's ball, KL Rahul, who was fielding at the position, produced a splendid effort at mid-on to reach and catch the ball.

He dived to his right and managed to grab the ball with both his hands. However, rather than celebrating, he got up and signalled umpire Ian Gould and other players on the field that his catch was not clean, before the umpires could determine the results. Apparently, the ball just fell short despite his attempt to catch it.

While the right-handed batsman looked bit irate with himself for not catching the ball cleanly, seeing his sportsmanship, on-field umpire Ian Gould got impressed and clapped for the fielder. He was later seen giving Rahul a thumbs-up and was also heard praising him by calling his act ‘outstanding’.
