Faf du Plessis is turning out to be a stand out player since he has joined the defending champions Chennai Super Kings. He had scored a match-winning half-century in his season's first game for the Yellow brigade against Kings XI Punjab.

He has taken CSK past the finish line on a couple of occasions with his top class batting. However, the South African skipper also made an impact on the field during CSK's clash against Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday. He took a stunning catch to send Robin Uthappa back to the dugout.

It took place in the 11th over of KKR's innings which was bowled by Imran Tahir. The South African leg-spinner had bowled a simple delivery to Robin Uthappa who had just come to the crease after Nitish Rana's dismissal. The veteran batsman flung his bat with the intention of taking Tahir to the cleaners. However, he did not time the ball well and it went a long way up in the air. Just when it looked like the ball would land safely, Faf covered a long distance and timed his jumping to perfection as he took an outstanding catch. Tahir was very delighted with what he saw and started his over the top celebrations as Uthappa was dismissed for a golden duck.

Kolkata Knight Riders will look to snap their losing streak. CSK have been the most dominant team of this tournament so far having won six out of seven games with 12 points which has helped them in cementing their place on the summit of the points table. KKR on the other hand are at the second spot but have suffered two straight losses heading into this contest. At the same time, KKR will be eager to avenge their reverse fixture loss against CSK.

CSK skipper MS Dhoni invited KKR to bat first after winning the toss. They bowled decently to restrict the former champions to a managable total of 161/8 in their 20 overs. Chris Lynn starred with the bat for Kolkata as he played a brilliant knock of a 51-ball 82 at a strike rate of 160.78 including seven boundaries and six maximums.
