Ben Cutting was in for a big surprise when he got to know that it was his 'birthday' and was presented with a birthday cake. This happened when the Mumbai Indians players were inside a flight while they were on their way to Delhi. Cutting, who was listening to music, suddenly removed his earphones when the air hostess stood near his seat with a cake in hand and said, 'Happy Birthday Sir". The Australian all-rounder then had a hearty laugh as his team-mates clapped for him. Meanwhile, Yuvraj Singh who was asleep, woke up suddenly to know what was going on as Hardik Pandya, who was seated next to Cutting, shook his hands and shared a hug with him as Suryakumar Yadav looked at the cake.
However, this was a prank which was played by MI's Strength and Conditioning coach Paul Chapman who had requested the air hostess to make an announcement about Cutting's birthday. The Mumbai team then started singing 'Happy Birthday to you' as Cutting had a piece of cake and giggled.
After the flight had landed in Delhi and while the players were making their way to the team hotel from the airport Ben Cutting said that he believed this prank was played by Paul Chapman. At the same time, he also admitted that it was not his birthday as his birthday was in January and that he was happy to take a couple of pieces of cake.
