Mahendra Singh Dhoni once again played a captain's knock which bailed his team Chennai Super Kings out of trouble at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Tuesday. Dhoni who has led CSK to three IPL titles put up a splendid performance and played one of the enterprising knocks by making the most of his experience of having played in these kinds of crunch games. His knock also included a couple of maximums in off consecutive deliveries.
It happened in the penultimate over of CSK's innings which was bowled by the veteran Sri Lankan bowler Lasith Malinga. On the third delivery, he bowled one round the wicket as the Dhoni heaved his bat and deposited Malinga into the stands as he MI speedster looked up in disbelief. On the next ball, Malinga once again bowled a full-length delivery and Dhoni gave him the same treatment by taking him to the cleaners. Thus, Mahi eased some pressure by clobbering Malinga for consecutive maximums which fetched him and his team 12 runs off two deliveries.
