England's pace duo of James Anderson and Stuart Broad have ripped apart the opposition batting unit since past many years. The two have worked together in tandem to win many matches for England. And there seems to be a very interesting chemistry between them.
When Broad seems to struggle, Anderson covers for his failure by picking the wickets. And when Ando fails, Broad repays the favor. Both of them share a great rapport, and are considered best of friends off the pitch.
Following England's win over India in the first Test at Birmingham, Anderson and Broad went out for some golf. It was a time for the two to relax. But instead, there was injury and laughter. Broad posted a video on Twitter, which shows Anderson taking a shot, but the golf ball hitting a tree before smashing him on his face. The right-arm fast bowler revealed that his partner is fine, though, he couldn't stop laughing at the incident.
England defeated India by 31 runs in the first Test at Birmingham to take a 1-0 lead in the five-match Test series. The fixture ended within three and a half days, as both the teams' batters, barring Virat Kohli, struggled against some really impressive bowling.
The two were not at their best, and yet, England beat India. Anderson took four wickets whereas Broad only dismissed two Indian batsmen, which was well below their usual standards.
But the duo will be very important in the second Test at Lord's, where England will be without Ben Stokes. The hosts' announced their 13-man squad for the second Test, which saw two notable changes.
Stokes, the destructor with the ball in India's second innings, was left out due to his hearing in court, which is scheduled later this week. He is replaced by Chris Woakes, who missed the first Test after recovering from an injury. There is also a maiden call-up for young Ollie Pope, who comes in for David Malan following his poor displays, both with bat and in field, in the first Test.
