The Perth pitch in the ongoing second Test between Australia and India has been fiery and ferocious, to say the least. Barring a few odd balls, which have stowed low, most of the deliveries have flew past the batsmen in a pacey manner.

A number of deliveries kicked up and reached the shoulder height of the batsmen after hitting the cracks. There were other deliveries which bounced so much that even the keeper couldn't collect them.

On a pitch, which has been nothing less than a fast bowler's paradise, it was upto the pacers from both the teams to make use of it. And one such bowler who exploited the conditions was Jasprit Bumrah.

India's primary pacer used the condition to his advantage, and terrified the Australian batsmen with his skidy action. One batsman who certainly faced his brute force was Aussie opener Marcus Harris.

In Australia's second innings, the youngster, who was just playing his second Test, was rattled and stunned after being hit on the helmet with a short ball by Bumrah. The delivery was so lethal that it only made the batsman fall down, but also produced a crack on his helmet. While the left-handed opener managed to come out unscathed from the incident, his helmet did face the music.

Trailing the four-Test series 1-0 after a 31-run defeat in the first Test in Adeliade, Australia bounced back strongly in Perth, and are on course to make it 1-1 at the end of Day Four. Having posted 326 after winning the toss and batting first, the Aussies restricted India to 283, despite Kohli's magnificent 123.

With a 43-run lead in hand, the hosts added 243 in their second innings and set up a 287-run chase for India on a tough pitch. And by the end of Day Four, India were closer to a defeat than a victory, needing 175 on the final day with only five wickets in hand.
