Sunrisers Hyderabad registered their third win of the season as well as their first away win after overcoming Delhi Capitals by five wickets at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium on Thursday. SRH performed well in all three departments after stand-in captain Bhuvneshwar Kumar had won the toss and decided to bowl first. Delhi batsmen struggled to keep the scoreboard ticking as the SRH bowlers picked up wickets at regular intervals and in the end the hosts could only manage 129/8 in their 20 overs.

However, in reply, SRH openers David Warner and Jonny Bairstow continued to pile on runs from the very first over and they were making batting look easy on a difficult wicket. Bairstow continued from where he had left off in the last game against RCB. The Englishman's big shot came in the first ball of the third over bowled by young Sandeep Lamichhane where Bairstow ended up depositing the ball in the triple decker.

Bairstow once again made his bat do the talking as he seems to be making the most of his maiden IPL season. He scored a quickfire 28-ball 48 at a strike rate of 171.43 which included nine boundaries and a six. He stitched in a 64 run opening stand with David Warner. It was also their fourth consecutive 50 run stand. He was deprived of a well-deserved half-century as he was dismissed in the last ball of the seventh over. By then, he had put SRH in a strong position. Mohammad Nabi and Yusuf Pathan finished the job for the 'Orange Army' by five wickets in the 19th over. Bairstow also won his second consecutive 'Man of the Match' award for his quickfire knock. He was also named 'Man of the Match'for his match-winning century against RCB on Sunday.
