Rishabh Pant and Kagiso Rabada once again complemented each other well during their second clash against two-time winners Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens on Friday.Pant had earlier taken a flying catch behind the stumps to dismiss the hard-hitting opener Chris Lynn when the Capitals had hosted Kolkata in the reverse fixture.

This time, the 21-year old stumper helped Rabada in earning a wicket by taking a stunning catch to send one of KKR's premier batsman Robin Uthappa back to the dugout. The incident happened in the ninth over of KKR's innings. Rabada had bowled a slower bouncer to Uthappa which he tried to pull. However, he did not succeed in getting his bat on the ball as the ball made contact with the gloves and just when it looked like the ball will get past the keeper, Pant timed his jump to perfection and  took a flying catch. He maintained his balance and then got up and smiled before proceeding to celebrate with this team-mates as Rabada gave a send-off to Uthappa and the Delhi boys shared a high five among themselves to celebrate the dismissal.

Delhi Capitals had decided to bowl first after winning the toss. It turned out to be a good decision as veteran Indian pacer Ishant Sharma castled Joe Denly on the very first delivery of the game. Robin Uthappa and Shubman Gill then stitched a 63 run partnership for the second wicket. Gill continued to keep the scoreboard ticking as Kolkata lost two important wickets. The U-19 World Cup winner then bought up a vital half-century. He played a key knock of a 39-ball 65 at a strike rate of 166.67 which included seven boundaries and two maximums. Post his dismissal, Andre Russell played a solid cameo of a 21-ball 45 at a strike rate of 214.29 which helped KKR post a competitive score of 178/7 in their 20 overs.

In reply, Delhi chased the target comfortably with more than an over to spare riding on opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan's splendid knock of an unbeaten 63-ball 97.
