Kings XI Punjab skipper Ravichandran Ashwin has managed to put his 'Mankading' controversy behind by putting up some stellar performances in the last couple of games. He picked up the crucial wicket of Vijay Shankar and also ran out Mohammad Nabi at the strikers end. However, there was one thing that the veteran off-spinner got wrong on Monday.

The incident happened  in the 15th over of Sunrisers Hyderabad innings which was bowled by young English all-rounder Sam Curran. In the third ball of the 15th over, Curran bowled a straight ball which came back sharply as Manish Pandey was trapped in front of the stumps. There was a huge appeal from the Kings XI Punjab but Curran did not look confident that he had got his man. Ashwin wanted to confirm before taking a review but then decided to go against it considering the height factor. Nonetheless, the replays showed that Pandey was plumb in front of the wicket as the ball would have gone on to hit the off stump and Pandey would have been back in the dug out had Punjab taken the review.

Pandey went on to score 15-ball 19 and stitched in a 55 run stand with David Warner who played a blistering knock of an unbeaten 62-ball 70. Their crucial partnership helped SRH get to a competive total of 150/4 in their 20 overs. Kings XI Punjab chased down the target in the penultimate over and won the contest by six wickets riding on KL Rahul's unbeaten 53-ball 71 and Mayank Agarwal's special knock of a 43-ball 55.

The contest between Kings XI Punjab and Sunrisers Hyderabad had a lot of amazing moments. David Warner managed to ground his bat inside the crease just in time while Punjab skipper Ashwin was about to bowl and saved himself from becoming yet another victim of 'Mankading'. Ashwin's good presence of mind helped him effect a run of Mohammad Nabi at the non-strikers end and then Deepak Hooda took an outstanding catch of Chris Gayle at long-on in the second innings.
