Kings XI Punjab will be looking to do the double against Mumbai Indians on Wednesday at the Wankhede Stadium. After being asked to bat first, Kings XI Punjab got off to an electrifying start with the help of their explosive openers Chris Gayle and KL Rahul. The duo started targetting the bowlers right from the word 'Go' and entertained the Mumbai crowd with their flurry of boundaries.

However, one that stood out was KL Rahul's delightful stroke which was executed nicely. The shot was a beautifully crafted one which ended up in the stands as everyone admired the marvellous shot.

The incident happened in the fourth over bowled by Alzarri Joseph. On the fourth ball, last game's 'Man of the Match' bowled a slower delivery right on the line of middle stump. Rahul, in a unique style, flicked the ball towards the leg side. The timing of the flick was so perfect that the ball went a long way up in the air and landed in the stands. A dejected Alzarri Joseph walked back to the bowling crease to mark his run-up while the on-field umpire raised both his hands to signal a six. Stand-in captain Kieron Pollard then instructed Joseph to focus on his bowling as Hardik Pandya comes and cheers the young Antiguan bowler to boost his morale.

Kieron Pollard is the stand-in captain as Rohit Sharma pulled his hamstring during the practice session ahead of the game against Kings XI Punjab. The dashing opening batsman looked uncomfortable and was in excruciating pain. The physio immediately came and attended him. However, Sharma did not take any further part in the training as he limped back off the field.

Rahul and Gayle shared a 116-run stand for the opening wicket. At the time of publishing this story, Kings XI Punjab were 124-1 after 14.2 overs. KL Rahul was unbeaten on a splendid 45-ball 56.
