WATCH: Lightning-quick Shreyas Iyer just survives classic MS Dhoni stumping

MS Dhoni might be having a hot and cold form with the bat but few would ever doubt his lightning-quick reflexes behind the stumps. A batsman needs to make sure that his feet needs to be grounded on time in order to prolong his stay in the middle when Dhoni is behind the stumps and that is exactly what young Shreyas Iyer did on Tuesday.

During the ninth over of the Delhi Capitals' innings against Chennai Super Kings at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium, Iyer was beaten by a Jadeja delivery which went straight into Dhoni's gloves and he duly dislodged the bails at the speed of a rocket. The third umpire was called for and replays suggested that the Delhi captain had just made his ground at the very last second.

However, Iyer could not last long as he was trapped in front of the wicket by Imran Tahir for a 20-ball 18 in the 12th over as Delhi Capitals were reduced to 79/2.

Earlier Delhi Capitals had won the toss and elected to bat first as both Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw ensured a good start for the Capitals. Shaw's cameo came to an end when he was caught by Shane Watson off Deepak Chahar in the quest of scoring quick runs in the Powerplay overs. His dismissal brought captain Shreyas Iyer to the middle and he played a supporting role to Shikhar Dhawan who was looking in great form. Iyer's 20-ball 18 included a six at a strike rate of 90.00.
