The Indian cricket team's recent batting struggles has created a cloud of doubt amongst fans. But If BCCI's recent video is anything to go by, fans can at least temporarily breathe a sigh of relief with the Indian batsmen looking finely tuned ahead of their 2018 Asia Cup opener against Hong Kong on Tuesday.

BCCI posted a video wherein MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma are seen sweating it out in the nets. The video suggests that both the batsmen mean business in the absence of Virat Kohli to face minnows Hong Kong and then later take on arch-rivals Pakistan the following day.

MS Dhoni has proved to be the answer to India's middle order crisis on several occasions. During his captaincy years, he remained a pivotal pillar of the Indian batting lineup and guided the 'Men in Blue' to unprecedented success. But Mahi's inconsistent form in 2017, saw him step down as captain and hand over the reigns to Virat Kohli.

Now, ahead of the Asia Cup 2018, the wicketkeeper-batsman has revealed the reasons behind the decision. He told media, "I resigned from captaincy because I wanted the new captain to get enough time for preparing a team before the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. Selecting a strong team without giving the new captain appropriate time isn't possible. I believe that I left the captaincy at the right time."

With Kohli being rested for the Asia Cup, Dhoni will be playing under Rohit Sharma for the upcoming tournament. India will start the tournament as the favorites, though, they must expect tough competition from Sarfraz Ahmed's Pakistan, who won the ICC Champions Trophy 2017.

Despite missing key players like Kohli, Ashwin and Jadeja, the Indian cricket team has enough firepower to pose a threat. With Hong Kong needing a win to stay alive after losing their opening match against Pakistan, expecting them to stage a surprise seems a far-fetched thought.

However, the world is gearing up for arguably the biggest clash of the year -- India vs Pakistan. The two arch-rivals last met each other on the playing field in 2017 during the final of ICC Champions Trophy. Then, the Men in Green (Pakistan), against all the odds, battered the Men in Blue (India) to lift the trophy. Since the finale, the two nations haven't faced each other in any form, hence, the fixture in the upcoming Asia Cup became a much-awaited affair.
