Defending champions Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians will be hoping to secure yet another final berth as both teams lock horns in the first qualifier on Tuesday. Even this game had its fair share of standout moments which included Mumbai Indians icon Sachin Tendulkar applauding young Rahul Chahar after he picked up the vital wicket of Faf du Plessis, the home crowd giving a thunderous reception to their 'Thala' MS Dhoni when he stepped out to bat one final time at Chepauk this season. However, apart from these standout moments, there was one moment which created a thrilling experience.

It happened in the final over of CSK's innings which was bowled by arguably one of the best death overs specialists in limited overs cricket, Jasprit Bumrah. On the very first delivery, Bumrah bowled a full toss as Dhoni attempted a big shot. The bat flew out of his hands and Ishan Kishan took a good catch at backward point as the local fans were left stunned. But then, there was a dramatic twist in the tale as the replays suggested that Bumrah had overstepped the line and the on-field umpire Nigel Llong signalled it as a no-ball and the home crowd came back to life.

Bumrah has been having a big issue of over-stepping the line. He had bowled an infamous no-ball against arch-rivals Pakistan in the 2017 Champions Trophy final to opening batsman Fakhar Zaman, who not only got a lifeline but also went on to score a match-winning century.

CSK had won the toss and elected to bat first. They were on the backfoot right from the beginning as they lost their top three batsmen very early. Murali Vijay and Ambati Rayudu then stitched in a 33-run stand and tried to stabilise Chennai's innings. 

Skipper MS Dhoni (37*) and Ambati Rayudu (42) then added 66 runs for the fifth wicket. Their crucial knocks helped the defending champions get to 131/4 in their 20 overs.
