"He wanted to go out there and get some runs as the last game did not go so well for him. So obviously he had the hunger to go out there and do well. He came out and got those crucial runs in the end", said Rohit.

Pandya had also bowled three overs where he gave away 37 runs without any scalps at an economy of 12.33. However, his skipper backed him by saying that even though he conceded a few runs, he bowled well in the middle overs. The three-time IPL winning skipper then went on to add that his bowling performance was a much improved one than the last game.

"It does augur very well for us if he keeps that form going. He is a crucial member of the team. He is a very flexible batsman as he can bat anywhere. He is a great bowler too and his form is very important to us".
