Spin legend Muttiah Muralitharan was one of the most successful bowlers during his playing days. The wily off-spinner from Kandy used to bamboozle at world-class batsmen with his variations like googlies and 'Doosra'. Therefore, it is not surprising to know that Murali still loves to do what he loves the most and that is indulging in spin bowling in the nets almost a decade after he bid adieu to International Cricket.
However, what surprised everyone was that Murali's son Naren was bowling in the nets and his bowling action was similar to that of his father. Sunrisres Hyderabad shared a video of the father-son duo bowling in the nets with a similar bowling action.
Here's a look at the video.
In this video, Murali and Jr.Murali are seen rolling their arms in the nets. Naren can be seen imitating his father's actions which also includes his signature facial expressions.
Even the netizens had something to say about the father and son's net session.
Muralitharan has represented Sri Lanka in 133 Tests and 350 One Day Internationals. The spin legend is the highest wicket-taker in both Tests and One Day Internationals. He has 800 Test scalps while he has picked up 534 ODI wickets. Murali retired from International Cricket after the end of 2011 World Cup where Sri Lanka finished as runners-up for the second consecutive time. He was a key part of the Sri Lankan squad that won the World Cup in 1996 in the subcontinent.
The 46-year old is currently the bowling coach of Sunrisers Hyderabad. He has been associated with the Orange Army' since 2015. He was also a part of the franchise when they had lifted the IPL trophy in 2016.
Sunrisers Hyderabad will be aiming to bring their campaign back on track after three consecutive losses as they have gone down to the sixth position in the points table. They will be hosting the defending champions Chennai Super Kings at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Wednesday.
