The Indian cricket team on Sunday arrived in New Zealand ahead of their five-ODI and three-T20I series starting January 23. Following their successful tour of Australia, where they completed a Test-ODI double over the hosts, the Men in Blue look will look to continue on their sensational form, this time against the Black Caps, ahead of the World Cup.
When Virat Kohli and his men landed at the home of Kiwis in Auckland, they were greeted with cheers from the Indian faithfuls residing in New Zealand. Fans flocked the airport as they welcomed the players and the coaching staff.
While each and every player got a rousing reception, the biggest and loudest cheers were given to the Indian skipper and his wife. As soon as the fans got the first look of Kohli and Anushka Sharma coming out of the airport, they went berserk and showered their love for the duo.
Team India landed for their grueling tour of New Zealand following a sensational tour Down Under. It all began with a T20I series, which ended 1-1. But since then, it was all about India dominating Australia.
For the first time ever, an Indian team manged to beat Australia in Australia as the triumphed 2-1 in the four-Test series. It was also the first time that an Asian team manged to beat the Aussies Down Under.
Things became even sweeter for the Men in Blue as they beat the Aussies 2-1 in the three-ODI series - a first ever bilateral ODI series win for India in Australia. Following the ODI success, India became the first ever team to win a bilateral Test, ODI and T20I series against Australia Down Under. Their Test success came earlier in the tour, when they won the four-match series 2-1. As for their T20I success, they achieved it in their 2016 tour, when they won they whitewashed the Aussies in the three-T20I series.
