M.S. Dhoni sporting an Army insignia on his glove during the India-South Africa clash was not appreciated by International Cricket Council on Thursday requested the BCCI to have the badge removed, saying it is against regulations. However, a number of sports personalities have stood in support of the former India cricket captain.

Talking to Republic TV, medal-winning Indian freestyle wrestler Sushil Kumar said that he 'doesn't see any problem in MS Dhoni sporting the badge'.

"Mai sabse pehle toh Dhoni bhai ko bohot badhai dunga kyuki vo Army ke hai aur yeh badge unke Battalion ka hai. Vo desh ke liye khelte hai aur humare Army ko bhi support karte hai Dhoni bhai. Mai toh yeh kahunga ke mai unka support karta hoon. Jo khildadi agar kisi sanstha se juda hai toh uska badge lagane se koi dikaat nahi hone chahiye".

(First of all, I would like to congratulate MS Dhoni for serving in the Army and the badge he wore was from his Battalion. He plays for the country and also supports Army. I want to say that he has my complete support. If a player follows any organization, wearing a badge of the same shouldn't be a problem.)

The International Cricket Council’s request to the Board of Control for Cricket in India to get the ‘Balidaan Badge’ removed from Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s wicket-keeping gloves spooked Pakistan. The neighbouring country’s minister Fawad Hussain attacked the veteran Indian cricketer for his gesture honouring the Indian Para Special Forces.

Replying to the objection of Pakistan, Indian wrestler Sushil Kumar said:

"Mahabharat ke jung toh nahi hai par humare liye khel ka maidan hi Mahabharat ke jung ho jata hai. Mai Dhoni bhai ko phir se badhai dunga kyuki koi farak nahi patda Pakistan kya sochta hai aur nahi sochta. Dhoni bhai ne saraniye kaam kiya hai".

(It's not the battle of Mahabharat but for a player, a playground becomes Mahabharat battle. Pakistan's view is not important. What MS Dhoni has done is applaudable.)

He also put out a message to BCCI and said:

"Mai apke madhyam se BCCI ko yeh kahunga ke yeh khiladi ke bhavna hai aur agar vo iss bhavna se khel raha hai toh koi dikaat nahi hone chahiye. Unhe Dhoni bhai ko iske liye allow karna chahiye.

(Through this medium I would like to tell BCCI this is the sentiments of a player and this shouldn't be a problem. They should allow MS Dhoni to play even if he is wearing a badge.)
