Team India's vice-captain Rohit Sharma once again redefined the 'hitman' nickname given to him as he made a blistering knock of 140 of 113 balls, taking India to a mammoth total of 337. The knock put Rohit Sharma second on the list of highest run-getter in the tournament, just behind Australian skipper Aaron Finch. Pakistan was decimated by India, as even the interference of rain couldn't change their fortunes as they lost the match by 89 runs.

Rohit Sharma's knock comprised of 14 fours and three sixes, taking his total runs scored in this tournament to 319 runs in just three innings. He was adjudged man of the match for his knock. Sharma is known to be quick on the crease as well as in the press conferences while replying to the queries of the media persons. This time, a Pakistani journalist Saj Sadiq asked Sharma at the post-match press conference if he had any advice for the Pakistani side to come out of the crisis they were in.

Sharma gave a cheeky laugh followed by a witty reply.

Sharma's reply left everyone in splits. ''"If I ever become the coach for Pakistan, I will tell them'', said Sharma.

Sharma later explained that fatherhood had a significant impact on his career as he was at his best at the present. Rohit said that the birth of his new-born daughter has put him in a really good space and that is the reason for his incredible form.

“It's just the space I'm in right now; having a newly born daughter in my life has put me in a really good space. I am enjoying my cricket coming off from a great IPL campaign. Here we were focussed on starting well and I think as a team we are heading in the right direction,” Rohit Sharma said in the post-match press conference.

In the absence of his regular opening partner Shikhar Dhawan, Sharma struck a good chord with KL Rahul, adding a 100 plus runs in their opening partnership.
