While the #SareeTwitter challenge had everyone from politicians to Bollywood biggies flaunt their pictures wearing sarees, a black and white video featuring a saree-clad woman running across the pitch and planting a kiss on Indian batsman Brijesh Patel's cheeks during the 1975 Test series between India and West Indies undoubtedly stole the show.
Netizens were left in splits when an old video taken from the live footage of the cricket match between India and West Indies played in 1975 surfaced on social media. In the video, a woman dressed in a saree was seen dodging the ground staff and police personnel in Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium to make her way to the Indian batsman Brijesh Patel who had just completed half-century in the fifth Test match played in the series.
After fulfilling her wish, the enthusiastic cricket lover was also seen smiling and celebrating as she runs away from the field. While social media was set abuzz by the #SareeTwitter challenge, this video posted was the real winner.
The video garnered appreciation from netizens far and wide, some who even lauded her for her running skills.
