Gabbar, as he is fondly called, can be seen putting the long yards in the gym even though he is on vacation, in his latest Instagram post.

After failing to make the cut for India's Test squad, the left-handed batsman is working hard in the gym as he gears up to head back to India for the limited overs series against Caribbean side. "Holidays doesn’t make any difference to me. Nothing stops me from training," Dhawan's caption read.

Shikhar Dhawan has been fine touch lately, after he was adjudged the Man of the tournament for his prolific showing with the bat, which played a pivotal role in India's road to the their seventh Asia Cup title.

There was lots of questions raised regarding the form of the southpaw, given his dismal outing in England. But then, Gabbar did what he loves doing, scoring runs! Barring the final, the Shikhar Dhawan was in splendid form with his explosive batting skills, which saw him become the tournament's highest run-getter with 342 runs from five innings.

After an impressive Asia Cup outing, Shikhar Dhawan will now feature for the Men in Blue in the limited overs series against West Indies. The southpaw will be hoping to carry the momentum as he looks to don the opening role for the Virat Kohli led-side.

However, he could see that position come under a threat teenage sensation, Prithvi Shaw. The 18 year-old batsman notched his maiden century on his senior team debut during the on-going Test series against West Indies and in doing so, became the youngest Indian player to score a ton on Test debut.

Wit the stocks of Prithvi Shaw skyrocketing ever since BCCI announced that the Mumbai lad would be handed his debut, it now remains to see if Shikhar Dhawan retains his place or if he will be pushed down the batting order.
